What this means
Compare territorial fossil and industrial CO₂ emissions per person across countries.
Higher territorial CO₂ emissions per person; lower territorial co₂ emissions per person.
Methodology & source
Values are Our World in Data territorial CO₂ emissions per capita from the Global Carbon Budget 2025: fossil-fuel and industrial/cement CO₂ divided by OWID population. GCP country totals are national energy and cement statistics times emission factors, not satellite measurements; they are treated as observed, the same class as Ember generation terawatt-hours. Land-use change (LULUCF) and international aviation and shipping bunkers are excluded; bunkers appear only in the global total. Country rows are joined by ISO 3166-1 alpha-3; OWID aggregates and territories outside UN-193 are excluded. Map ranks are comparable-sample competition ranks among currently loaded countries (rank 1 is the highest emissions per person). Missing countries remain without a value.

Monaco and San Marino have no GCP ISO3 row and remain without a value.
