Methodology & source
Values are generation shares derived from Ember Yearly Electricity Data terawatt-hours by fuel, not Ember's pre-aggregated Clean, Renewables, or Fossil rows. Country rows are joined by ISO 3166-1 alpha-3; World, continent, EU, and other Ember aggregates are excluded. The headline metric is the low-carbon share (renewable plus nuclear). OurBlueDot renewable is wind, solar, hydro, and biomass; geothermal sits in other. 2025 is omitted because Ember currently publishes that year for a sparse country set. Map ranks are comparable-sample competition ranks among currently loaded countries.

Ember Yearly Electricity Data generation TWh by fuel, converted to generation shares. Nuclear, wind, solar, hydro, bioenergy, fossil (coal, gas, oil, and other fossil), and other (geothermal, other renewables, and unknown remainder) are derived from fuel-level TWh so parts sum to 100. OurBlueDot renewable is wind+solar+hydro+biomass and excludes geothermal, which sits in other; this is the current identity, not Ember's broader renewable aggregate. The headline value is the low-carbon share (renewable+nuclear). Rows are country and economy series joined by ISO 3166-1 alpha-3; Ember regions and other aggregates are excluded. Territories outside UN-193 are not added to the country registry. Snapshot years 2019-2024. 184 UN members have at least one finite mix in this extract. 2025 omitted because UN-193 coverage was below 150 (2025: 88).
